A blister hanger from the advanced landing ground at Bisterne, 5 kms (three miles) north of Winkton. It is now the home of the New Forest Owl Centre. When in use at the airfield there were no solid end walls, just the curved reinforced roof. Some hangers had canvas screening for windproofing.

This blister hanger is still standing on the former Lymington ALG, about 25 kms (15 miles) east of Winkton. This airfield was used by the 9th Air Force's 50th Fighter Group who also flew P47s. The hanger is still used for the farmer's own private aircraft and by the hanger is a commemorative plaque which details the history of the ALG.
